Honey

Honey is wonderful for anemia because it increases the amount of hemoglobin in the blood.  This is a great home remedy for anemia.  Honey has lots of manganese, copper and iron that really helps to naturally cure anemia.

Vitamin C

It is extremely important that you take lots of vitamin C, as it is imperative for your body to have vitamin C to absorb iron.  To get enough vitamin C, eat two citrus fruits every day.

Beets contain vitamins P, C, B6, B2, B1, fat, protein, carbohydrates, copper, iron, iodine, sulphur, calcium, phosphorus and potassium.  All of these are essential for naturally treating anemia.

Try to take two cold water baths daily. You can also try sunbathing as well.  This helps to increase the body's production of red blood cells.

A great home remedy for anemia is to simply eat about three or four dried figs daily.

Light exercise (walking or bike riding) and deep breathing exercises are wonderful for increasing red blood cells in the body.  When red blood cells are increased, the body's level of hemoglobin increases, and anemia is treated.

Avoid Iron Blocking Foods

The foods that you eat are instrumental.  Some foods inhibit iron absorption in the body.  Some foods are high in oxalic acid, which greatly hinders the body's ability to absorb iron.  These foods include chocolate, tomatoes, rhubarb and spinach.  Other foods that tend to block iron absorption in the body include black tea, coffee, dairy products and soda.  Dairy products are especially harmful because they can cause microscopic tears in the intestinal tract, which can cause internal bleeding.  You should also avoid fad diets.  These are not only bad for you, but they are usually deficient in vitamins and minerals, which can be worse for anemia.

People that suffer from anemia should try to eat lots of nuts, fish, poultry, meat, eggs, fruits and vegetables, dry beans, pastas, rice and cereal.  These are all healthy foods that should be consumed to increase the absorption of iron in the body.

Iron rich foods are essential to the anemic's diet.  These foods will allow the body to absorb more iron and thus, reduce the severity of the anemia.  Iron is the best way to treat anemia naturally.  Try to eat lots of prunes, raisins, molasses, lentils, brown rice, oysters, bran flakes, dried fruits, beets, leafy greens and liver.  All of these foods are rich in iron and allow the body to easily absorb the iron to raise hemoglobin levels.

When cooking, be sure to pay attention to the type of pots and pans that you use.  Don't cook in anything other than iron pots and pans, as the food can absorb some of the iron, thus passing it along to you.  This is a great home remedy for treating anemia without having to change your diet or anything else in your daily routine.

Apples not only help keep the doctor away, but they are wonderful natural sources of iron, and are thus instrumental for treating anemia.  If you suffer from anemia, simply try to eat several apples daily (about three will suffice).

Vitamin C

Iron cannot be absorbed by the body without vitamin C.  If you search the internet for natural cures, natural treatments and natural remedies for anemia, you'll find lots of information about foods rich in iron and advice to ingest as much iron as possible.  However, your body won't benefit from the iron rich foods without the addition of vitamin C.  This can be easily accomplished by adding citrus fruits to the diet.  These include lemons, oranges and limes.

One of the best natural cures for anemia is to ingest lots of vitamin B12.  This can be found easily as an animal protein, but should be ingested through the consumption of organic meats.  Try to eat organic liver and kidney, as these foods are excellent sources of iron and B12.

Beet Root

Beetroot is excellent for naturally treating anemia.  It can be consumed raw or cooked.  If you aren't a big fan of the vegetable, try to make juice from the beetroot.
