Here is a home remedy for back pain that has worked wonders for me. When I was in my 20s I had my lower back go out 4 times. This is the kind of thing where you are on the couch for several days and the slightest wrong moves caused the most excruciating back pain like someone stuck a knife in your back. I read about some exercises you could do. Only one of those exercises did I continue regularly and it worked wonders. This is what you do. Lay on one side and point the bottom leg out straight. Draw the top leg up toward your chest. Take your bottom arm and pull the knee toward the floor. Twist your shoulders the opposite direction. Take your top hand and push in spots up and down your body to stretch the spine as you are twisting. Then do the other side. Do each side for about a minute. I got in the habit of doing this before I went to bed each night. Since then and 40 years later, knock on wood, I have not had my back go out even one time. The purpose is to twist the spine causing all the connecting muscles and tissues to stretch. After I had been doing it for several months, my spine started to loosen up and I would get popping sounds of the spine adjusting like you get when you go to the chiropractor. In fact this is one of the main positions the chiropractor does – if you have ever been to one you know what I am talking about. Don’t ever ever have back surgery. I know a number of people who have done that and all of them said it was a mistake. Back pain is slow to heal. I was sore for a year or so after I started twisting but, thank the lord, it never went out again and I got completely well.

If your back goes out, put ice on it immediately. The more you can reduce the swelling the quicker it will get well. This is true for any sports injury like a strained knee or sprained ankle. You will see the trainers put ice on it immediately. Once my back went out getting out of the car. Right away I went to a convenience store and got a plastic bag and some ice. Long Hot Bath
Here is my home remedy for back pain: Whenever you feel your back tighten or lock up, try taking a long hot bath. If you find a hot bath as too uncomfortable; at least try to sit in a warm bath for awhile. I find this to be very helpful for when my back acts up.
Sleep On Floor
In oriental countries it is common knowledge that if you are having back pain, the remedy is to sleep on the floor for a night or two.
If you experience pain in your back there is one simple natural home remedy that can help with your condition. It is called exercise. Just doing simple exercises and some stretching can help alleviate back ache. You must however try and maintain this consistently.

Taking a fish oil capsule every day is an inexpensive way to help with back pain, wrist aches, and joint pain. It works very effectively. Omega 3 fatty acids have been shown to reduce inflammation of all types. You can also get this as flax seed oil if you want to avoid the mercury and save the fish. Flax seed oil is just as potent.
Take a metallized heat reflecting sheet and put it between the mattress and bottom sheet of your bed. You can usually find one in your first-aid kit. This will help apply extra heat to your back and it should work better than even electric heating pads or hot water bottles. It’s really great how much heat the body can generate from this.
