How to Burp a Baby Home Remedies

My solution for how to burp a baby is really nothing more than common sense and instinct.  When you have a young baby that is need of burping; just hold your baby gently up against your chest, and softly massage its back with the palm of your hand.

After feeding time is over and you need to burp your baby; take your baby and find a good chair to sit down in.  Next, take your little infant and place his or her body down on your lap with its chest down.  Very gently, pat your infants back.  This should do the job of burping the little one.

After you have finished nursing your baby, and before beginning the burping process; there is a simple technique that will be helpful in attaining a successful burping session.  You will need to take your baby and hold him or her by the back and butt (you may also need to support the head).  Next you should almost lower the lower upper body nearly upside down before returning the baby upright again.  Repeat this process two or three times.  This will help with the movement of air.  Lastly, then gently tap the baby on the back to begin the burping process.

When it was time to burp my baby son, I would sit down and hold him by supporting his head and upper body.  I would have my legs open and would lower or lean him down between my knees.  He would start laughing as he thought this to be real funny.  Soon we both would be laughing.  I would lift him up while he was laughing and try burping him at this time.  The more I did this routine with him, the more he would belch.  A little word of advice; always get yourself a cloth diaper or some type of tarp to cover your shoulder with.

After my second daughter was born and it became time to start burping her, I ran into some problems.  All the home remedies for burping a baby never seemed to work for me.  I had researched and read about all these wonderful techniques for how to burp a baby, yet I still struggled to burp my little one.  Finally, one day quite by accident I was holding my baby girl on my lap and I just instinctively started to gently pat her little tummy.  Much to my amazement and shock, she started burping in a matter of seconds!  So, for those of you out there having problems with the burping of your infants, you might want to give my approach a try.

Here is a method for how to get a baby to burp that I used on both of my sons when they were babies.  I would sit down in a chair with my legs apart.  Then I would sit my baby son side ways on my leg with his legs dangling downward between my own legs.  Next, I would gently place my hand underneath his chin to help with supporting his head.  I would then gently bounce my knee and lightly pat my little sons back for a few minutes.  After doing this, I’d then put my hand flat against the bottom of my baby sons back and gently rub straight up with a little pressure.  Then, I’d return to the bouncing and patting process.  It wasn’t long and my baby son would be finished with his burping session.  This technique always worked for me!  You should give it a try!

Here is a good how to burp a baby method that will help with the burping process.  Just fill up the baby bottle with water and a touch of 7up or sprite.  Allow your baby to have just a couple of ounces, and he or she will burp like you do after having some sprite.  This is also good for helping babies when their tummies are hurting.
