Lemon Juice and Baking Soda

When I was in Mexico I came down with a serious bout of diarrhea.  My friend’s mother got 2 lemons and squeezed out all the juice into a cup.  Then she added a half teaspoon of baking powder.  When it started to foam, she had me drink it immediately.  It worked so amazingly well that I am still dumbfounded by it.  I don’t know how it works but it works.
