A home remedy for halitosis or “bad breath” is taking good care of your teeth. If you floss your teeth at least once daily and brush your teeth after meals you will notice a big difference in the freshness of your breath. After flossing and brushing I use Listerine as a final step. I take about a capful of Listerine and wash it around in my mouth for 30 seconds. This is an excellent way to help keep your teeth healthy and your breath fresh! It works!!

My natural remedy for halitosis is a combination of eating a diet consisting of fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains and pasta. I also take good care of my teeth and have 6 month check -ups with my dentist. The semi-annual tooth cleaning also helps a whole lot. A healthy diet combined with good oral care will help cure your halitosis.

Cloves have been known as a natural remedy for halitosis for ages. The way to use the cloves is either by drinking a clove tea and also using the tea as a mouthwash. Take about 3 cloves and steep them in hot water. After it is cool drink some of the tea then use the remainder as a mouth wash. Cloves are known as a natural antiseptic!

Fennel leaves are also a useful herb and there are several uses to it. The easiest way is to chew the leaves and allow the saliva to start to collect in the mouth or you can take a fennel capsule, mix it with baking soda and use it to brush your teeth.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Another natural remedy for halitosis is apple cider vinegar. As we get older the amount of hydrochloric acid made by our body is much less compared to when we are younger. By ingesting a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar on a daily basis you help to increase the hydrochloric acid in your body and thus reduce the bad breath odor.

A home remedy for halitosis or bad breath is to avoid ingesting alcohol, tobacco, onions, and garlic. These foods are carried through the bloodstream and exhaled through the lungs.

A great home remedy for halitosis is fennel leaves or fennel powder. If you can gain access to fresh fennel leaves just take a couple leaves and chew on them until your mouth creates saliva. If you do not have fresh fennel leaves but some fennel capsules and open them up into a bowl and mix with a little baking soda and then brush your teeth with this mixture. Tom’s toothpaste makes great fennel toothpaste also.

A super wonderful natural remedy for curing halitosis is something so natural and easy it is hard to believe! All you need to do is buy some anise, or cardamom or fennel in the form of seeds and chew on them! All three of these natural ingredients are great for removing bad breath.

If you research halitosis you will come to find that 80-90% of the reasons people experience bad breath is due to a dirty mouth. Old food caught in teeth and also plaque are both culprits. The best home remedy for halitosis is taking good care of your teeth and mouth. Floss and brush your teeth regularly. Also add Listerine or some other mouth wash of your preference and your bad breath will disappear!

Baking Soda

A natural remedy for halitosis is using a baking soda mixture with water as a mouth wash. Baking soda is also wonderful for cleaning your tongue. Just take a tsp of baking soda and mix it with a qtr glass of water and then wash your mouth with it for about 20 seconds. Do this on a regular basis and your mouth with thank you.

Brushing your tongue with a tooth brush helps to remove the debris collected on your tongue and at the same time is a home remedy for halitosis. Consistent cleaning of your tongue will also help your overall health. Some people use a spoon to gently scrape the tongue, but I prefer using a tooth brush. I have purchased a separate tooth brush that I use only for cleaning my tongue.

Sunflower Seeds

For years now I have eaten sunflower seeds after each meal and then drank a tall glass of water because it is an easy and effective natural remedy for halitosis. The raw sunflower seeds really work to remove bad breath. Just eat a small amount of the seeds after you eat, and then drink a cool drink of water.

Yogurt

My home remedy for halitosis is eating one cup of yogurt each day. If you eat a cup of yogurt each day for 6 weeks you will no longer have halitosis.

My uncle chews on a whole clove after meals and he swears this is the best natural remedy for halitosis.

Tea Home Remedy for Halitosis

Drinking a hot cup of tea will remove bad breath. Hot tea is a home remedy for halitosis that is easy and tasty.

Lemon

Each morning I wake up and make a glass of lemon water. Lemon water is not only excellent for your digestive system but it is also wonderful to use as a gargle for bad breath. This natural remedy for halitosis is easy and healthy. Just take a qtr of one lemon and squeeze the juice into half a glass of water. Gargle with the lemon juice each morning and evening if you wish. One whole lemon will last 4 days.

Eating apples on a daily basis will help remove the bacteria in your mouth that causes bad breath. This home remedy for halitosis is part of my morning ritual. I make sure I always have fresh apples in my crisper and each morning I make sure that I eat one apple.

Parsley

A natural remedy for halitosis is eating to eat a sprig of fresh parsley after a meal. Parsley has chlorophyll which is a natural breath deodorizer. If you are out eating at a restaurant and wish to remove strong food odors such as garlic or onions, just eat a little bit of parsley, it is also great for your health.
