Alcohol and Coconut Conditioner
Scrub your head with rubbing alcohol, then follow with coconut conditioner. This is an excellent home remedy for killing lice.

Lemon Juice, Vinegar and Egg Yolks
Make a mask for your hair using three tablespoons of lemon juice mixed with three tablespoons of vinegar and two egg yolks. Apply this mixture to your scalp and allow it to set for about thirty minutes. Then, wash your hair and rinse well with warm water. This is a very effective home treatment for lice.

Garlic and Lemon Juice
Mix two tablespoons of garlic paste with two tablespoons of lemon juice. Apply this to your scalp and allow it to soak for about half an hour. Wash your hair using cold water and you'll find that the lice will be dead. This is one of my favorite natural treatments for lice.

Butter and Lemon Juice
One of my favorite home treatments for lice is to mix one tablespoon of butter with two tablespoons of lemon juice. Mix the two ingredients together well until they form a cream. Apply this to your head and leave on for at least fifteen minutes. Rinse well and follow with a dandruff shampoo and conditioner. This is one of the best natural treatments for lice.

Lemon Juice Straight Up
Apply the juice of a raw lemon to your scalp once a week. This is not only a great natural treatment for lice, but is also treats dandruff as well.

Hair Dye Home Remedy for Lice
Since I color my hair and it was time for a touch up, I was surprised when I saw that permanent hair dye is a home remedy for lice. I left the dye on my hair for an extra ten minutes and was surprised to find that the nits and lice were killed and haven't returned.

Cinnamon Oil, Thyme Oil and Mouthwash
Whenever my family was infested with lice, we didn't know how to get rid of it. However, we found this great home remedy. Mix together some cinnamon oil, thyme oil and some regular, store brand mouthwash. Be sure that you're getting the original gold color. Fill a spray bottle halfway full with the mouthwash, then add about fifteen to twenty drops of each of the oils. Mix well, then spray on your scalp. You'll find that this can get very hot on your scalp. This kills the eggs and the lice within seconds. Leave it on until your scalp cools, then rinse well. You may find that this actually makes a wonderful hair styling spray, so I leave mine on my scalp for a while as I'm fixing my hair in the morning. Spray your scalp every other day and within a week you should be lice free. This natural treatment is also safe to use on pets.

Perm Solutions Home Remedy for Lice
As a licensed cosmetologist, we deal with lice all the time. In beauty school, we were taught to use perm solution. Comb the solution through your hair and leave on for about twenty five minutes, then wash with shampoo. As you're rinsing, you'll be able to pick the nits out. When you use the perm solution, you won't need to add the naturalizer because you aren't setting a curl. Instead, just add the solution and leave it on for a bit to kill the lice. This is an easy and effective home remedy that works for treating lice.

Olive Oil
Head lice can be treated at home by rubbing olive oil into the hair to the roots. Then, wrap your head and cover with saran wrap for several hours. Comb your hair with the olive oil still in it. You can then shampoo your hair. The idea with this is that the oil will make your hair too slick for the lice and eggs to stick to the scalp or hair and they will easily slide out when shampooing.

Heat as Lice Natural Home Treatment
Lice cannot live in high heat and the heat will kill them, so try using some styling tools on your hair to get rid of the lice. Take your hair by half an inch sections and dry with your hair dryer on high heat. Be sure that you are drying the hair from root to tip. You can also follow by using a straightening iron to add additional heat, but be sure that you don't burn yourself or the other person!

Bath Oil
Avon makes a great product called Skin-So-Soft Bath Oil. I put this on hair and allow it to soak overnight. In the morning, I wash my hair using dish soap. All of the nits and lice will be dried and dead in the morning. This is my favorite home remedy for lice.
