Jock Itch Home Cures & Natural Remedies

Alcohol

Something you can do at home in terms of a natural cure for jock itch is   use a mixture of 70% isopropyl alcohol to clean the affected area.  Next, apply an antifungal powder, and repeat this process every time you start to feel the symptoms.  Also, with your diet; you need to avoid oily food like pizza, and also avoid bread, potatoes, starchy rice, and other type of carbohydrates.

Of all the natural remedies out there, nothing will work better than zinc oxide.  The best thing to do is to get hold of a diaper rash cream that has a lot of zinc oxide in it and put it over the affected areas for as many days as needed.  Usually the redness and irritation will go away within a day after you first started to treat it.

When you are attempting to treat jock itch with a home remedy; be careful when using powder.  Don’t use baby powder on the infected area.  It contains corn starch which will attract the fungus and will cause it to spread even more.  If you use a powder, use a talcum powder and not a baby powder.

Tea Bag Natural Cure for Jock Itch

If you’re experiencing severe itching on your scrotum area, try putting a wet tea bag over the area.  This will help to contain the itch.

A good natural cure for jock itch is to apply some coconut oil on the affected area before going to bed.  And be sure to wear loose cotton under garments to absorb any sweat.  Also, after applying this, don’t get up and start walking around.

***

Vinegar

I recently discovered a simple natural remedy for jock itch.  You simply take a swab and apply some diluted vinegar to the affected area period.

***

Salt

Among the various natural cures for jock itch, this is my one of choice.  Make a hot bath and add a fair amount of salt – maybe two cups.  Get in the bath and stay for at least fifteen minutes.  This will allow the salt to address the affected areas.  The type of action on the part of the salt is to draw out the liquid from any blisters and it dries them up.  If you follow this routine for a few days, repeating it twice daily; you should be able to rid  yourself of the jock itch problem.

To find success for treating jock itch, you should wash the affected area with vinegar or chlorine bleach.

Tea Tree Oil Home Cure for Jock Itch

Tea tree oil is an effective home cure for treating jock itch.  If you apply it to the affected area, it will help to reduce the burning and itching.  Tea tree oil is effective because it contains antibacterial properties and is a deep cleansing and stimulating oil.

***

Garlic

Garlic has been a well known natural cure for jock itch for a long time.  If you take it orally, you will want to take it in capsule form as it is really unpleasant in raw form.  You should take about three times the amount prescribed on the bottle.  It is a food product so you don’t have to worry about overdosing on it.  You can also take the garlic and blend or mince it in some olive oil and use it as a compress to the affected area.

My suggestion for a natural remedy regarding jock itch is to pick an anti fungal cream and use as directed.  Next, put on some antifungal powder right afterward.  The antifungal cream will help the powder to stay on.  When you are doing this process; be sure to get the inner thigh creases.

If you have an outbreak of jock itch; be sure to wash your clothes and in particular your underwear in bleach.  Also, wash your bedding using bleach.

***

Clothing

Paying attention to your clothing and what type you wear and how clean they are can be a very beneficial type of natural cure for jock itch.  Specifically, you should wear loose cotton clothing or a synthetic type of material that will absorb moisture.  Always wear a clean pair of cotton shorts over an athletic supporter to help prevent the rubbing of skin and additional sweat.  Whenever you can you should change out of sweaty clothing.  Never put sweaty clothes back on.  Also, don’t ever share your clothing or towels with others.

***

Something you may want to consider when choosing a natural cure for your jock itch is to recognize if you are overweight and are in need of shedding some pounds.  The heavier you become, the more skin folds exist that add more damp and moist environments for the fungus to grow in.

***

Bleach

There is a natural remedy for jock itch that is dangerous; but, effective if used properly.  Take a water bottle of three parts water and add this to one part bleach.  Mix this together and shake it up really well.  Never put it on yourself in pure form or you will be visiting the ER with chemical burns.  Next, you’ll need to get a washcloth and a dropper like an ear syringe and put it on the affected area every few hours.  The bleach will kill it as it is a form of liquid death.

I had some type of rash that I couldn’t make sense out of.  After I saw my doctor and he told me to try some lotramin.  It didn’t help with my rash; but, I realized that my condition was some type of jock itch.  I thought it would be good to share what has actually worked for me in treating it.  I’ve started experiencing some success using tea tree oil for the past 24 hours.  It has actually turned out to be a good type of natural cure for jock itch.  The impact of using the tea tree oil has been more immediate and drastic than anything else I’ve tried using this past month.

***

Hydrogen Peroxide

My husband was having problems with the itching and ended up trying a type of home cure for his jock itch that was quite effective.  The formula he used was to take three per cent hydrogen peroxide (35 % food grade hydrogen peroxide diluted 1:10 with filtered water) and then spray it unto the affected area in the morning and evening, allowing it to dry out afterward.  The jock itch went away and the use of this spray didn’t cause any sting at all.  The jock itch hasn’t returned in over two years.  This has turned out to be a very cheap and effective home remedy for treating jock itch.
