Mononucleosis Natural Home Remedies

Sleep

When you’re treating mono, getting lots of rest is really important even throughout the daytime. You will recover much more quickly if you get lots of rest. I was hit hard by mononucleosis and had to lay down a lot! Rest is one of the very key factors in curing it and if you don’t get enough, you could relapse. If you are too active this will be counterproductive to your healing process. Be prepared to rest and sleep for several weeks in order to completely heal.

Saltwater

If you have strep throat, you should take extra caution so that you don’t get mononucleosis. Strep throat can easily turn into mononucleosis if not treated quickly. One thing you can do to help treat your strep throat so that it doesn’t turn into mono is to use warm saltwater as a gargle throughout the day.

Water

Drinking plenty of fluids all day long is one of the best ways to help flush out all the toxins and give your immune system the strength it needs to fight mononucleosis. Hydration is essential to help your body heal.

Quit Smoking

If you have mononucleosis, you should quit smoking immediately and avoid smoking until you are better. Smoking can make your symptoms much worse.  Smoking is so unhealthy for you and it would be wise to quit. I used to smoke and so I understand how difficult it can be to stop this addictive habit, yet it is possible. There are many wonderful aids to help you quit smoking. When I quit smoking I planned ahead. I took three days off from work and told my family what I was doing since I knew I might be cranky or out of sorts while going through the quitting process. Since you are fighting mononucleosis it is an opportune time to quit so that your body can heal faster. Make sure you drink plenty of fluids while quitting.

Vitamins

I had to take a whole lot of vitamins when I was fighting mononucleosis. I took virgin coconut oil, two ACV tablets, 1 500mg L-Lysine, 1 500mg vitamin C, and 1 50mg zinc. At night, take just the 4 coconut oils, and 1 L-Lysine. Do this for a little over a week and you should start feeling a lot better. It is also a good idea to continue taking vitamins even after you heal because the vitamins and minerals can help strengthen your immune system. I also take beta glucan and lipoic acid on a daily basis.

Coconut Oil

If you want to help relieve your mononucleosis try taking two tablespoons of coconut oil in the morning and again at night. This should help you get better a lot faster.

Yarrow and Elderflower

If you’re suffering from mononucleosis, try taking elderflower and yarrow. If your liver and spleen are being affected by the mono, it will help support them. These herbs are very healing and will help ease your suffering.

Garlic

If you want a good natural remedy for mononucleosis, try eating garlic on a regular basis. Garlic greatly helps get rid of mono and other infections like it. Garlic is a blood purifier and is very potent in healing infections. I think Garlic tastes quite strong so I add a clove of garlic to a dish at each meal. Some people can tolerate eating garlic raw but it is too much for me even though I love the taste of cooked garlic.

***

Cranberry Juice

Try drinking some natural cranberry juice without any sugars or additives for around seven days to help cure your mononucleosis. I have used cranberry juice for my mono infection and it really helped me feel better. Cranberry juice will also help you prevent and heal bladder infections.

Aromatherapy

One thing that can help if you have mono is taking a bath with bergamot oil, lavender oil, and eucalyptus oil. This will really help you feel less tired while you’re experiencing mononucleosis. I love to add these oils to my bath in the morning and again at night. They smell so good and it feels so nice to soak in a hot bath with these healing essential oils.

If you have mononucleosis, try using some wild indigo and cleavers plant extracts. These wild extracts and wonderful for aiding in the healing process.
