Cellulite Home Remedies

First thing to do about cellulite, ladies, is to deprogram ourselves from the relentless advertising campaigns that want us to believe those walking stick models that have been airbrushed into some kind of cartoon characters, are normal and that we ought to want to try and look like that!  Rebel!  Stand up and refuse to be manipulated any more by corporate greed that seeks to set such a high unattainable standard that is impossible to meet unless you spend lots of money.  Even then it won’t work.  You can’t really airbrush yourself every day.  Also try to accept aging gracefully.  We put too much importance on our bodies and it just programs us to be miserable.

No Fat or Dairy Home Remedy for Cellulite

Fat deposits that form in pockets just under the skin are what we refer to as cellulite.  Most commonly it appears on the thighs, hips and buttocks.  Due to its close proximity to the skin, it creates a dimpled texture.  Thin people can also have cellulite but it is more pronounced if one is overweight.  Fat is connected to the skin by collagen fibers.  When these break down, pull tight or stretch, this allows the fat cells to bulge outward.  This is the source of the dimpling.  Genes may play a role in cellulite formation but the central cause is poor diet.  Liposuction is not recommended for cellulite as it may even make the problem worse.  As a cellulite home remedy, avoid eating fat and dairy. Smoking causes the collagen fibers in our bodies to break down so don’t smoke if you want to get rid of cellulite.

Apple Cider Vinegar Cellulite Home Remedy

A great home remedy to remove cellulite is to drink a cup of water with two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and a little honey.  Do this twice a day to melt off the dimples.

Coffee Lotion Cellulite Home Remedy

To remove cellulite, grind regular coffee into a powder and then mix it with any hand lotion.  Apply this to the dimpled areas for 5 minutes each day.  Wash it off in the shower and in 30 days you will see the dimples going away.

Squeeze the juice of one lemon into a cup of water and add a little cayenne as much as is comfortable.  Drink this 3 times a day to get rid of cellulite.

The only way to have less cellulite is to exercise.  You can use an elliptical machine which works on your rear end and your legs.  It will also get your heart rate up.  It took me about a month to be able to use this machine for more than 30 minutes.  The first week it was hard doing even 5 minutes.  Also I have been watching what I eat and have lost about 40 pounds.

As a home remedy for cellulite, nothing beats getting your circulation tip top and sweating.  The more intense forms of yoga and running will do this.  Here is a scrub you can use in the shower to reduce cellulite:  olive oil, coffee grounds, salt, cayenne, cinnamon and honey.  Caffeine in the coffee has a tightening effect.  The cayenne draws blood to the surface.

I tried the Nivea cream that you can buy at the drugstore and it appears to be doing the job.  It’s a little spendy.  Exercise and water are not the answer for all.  I am thin and have cellulite so I am not trying to lose weight to get rid of it.

Coffee grounds will do it.  Remove the leftover grounds from your morning coffee and rub that into or onto your skin while in the shower.  Do this for about 5 minutes.  When you are done with the shower use a good shea butter cream.  Shea butter comes from a tree in Africa and is magic for the skin.  I like the Ocean Lovers brand made by Wendy's Healing Botanicals: Ocean Lover's Shea Butter

Although thin, I still have cellulite.  In my opinion it was my diet that did it.  So I have cut way way back on fast foods and oil in cooking in general and this has brought a big improvement.  It took awhile and I still have the problem although much reduced.  I am going to do the coffee grounds next and I had also heard of apple cider vinegar.  I will try these.

Diet as Cellulite Natural Home Remedy

Cellulite has nothing to do with aging, rubbing things on the outside or exercise.  Cellulite forms when our cells become weakened from putting all that junk in our pie holes.  This causes the fat cells to glom onto the underside of our skin in an irregular way and dimples is what we get.  The only good cellulite home remedy is to stop eating refined processed foods and oil.  Eating fat makes you fat!  How common sense is that?  Make sure you get omega 3 oils like from flaxseed oil.  Take vitamins. This will strengthen the cells.

For about a year and a half I have been using the Nivea cream and somehow it does lessen the appearance of the cellulite.  You have to use it twice a day.  It is no substitute for exercise or eating healthy but it has helped me.  I believe that genetics are somewhat responsible as I have seen overweight women with no cellulite.  Also I have been doing ashtanga yoga and that is helping as it is a fairly vigorous yoga.  I am doing my best to avoid fast food.

My butt and thighs are repulsive and so I keep myself fully clothed in the summer months.  A few years back I got a book titled The Liver Cleansing Diet written by Dr. Sandra Cabot.  So I went on the diet for about 2 weeks and the cellulite vaporized into thin air!  I was astonished at the effect.  I also lost 10 pounds.  I went off the diet because it was too much effort and I was working full time).  You can find Dr. Cabot on line.
