NAET Allergy Elimination

You can get rid of all your allergies by doing this natural treatment. The technique is called NAET and it was developed by Dr. Devi S. Nambudripad, M.D. (WI), D.C., L.Ac., Ph.D.  NAET stands for Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Technique.  It utilizes acupuncture to reset the body so it does not produce unwarrented allergic reactions.  My wife had this done and she was alergic to many foods.  Her energy level was so low she would hit the wall by noon and be done for the day.  This technique totally cured her.  While in the waiting room, I talked to a lady with an 8 year old boy who had severe environmental allergies and she said Dr. Li had totally cured him as well.  She said he is now a different kid.  Most practitioners will treat one item at a time like tree pollen or sugar for instance.  Dr. Li experimented and developed a way to treat all food allergies in one treatment and all environmental allergies in one treatment.  This saves lots of time and money.  Dr. Li is from China and was a medical doctor there as well as acupuncturist and herbalist.  If you want to do this, it will probably save you money to fly to Norman, Oklahoma because you only have to do one or two treatments instead of a dozen or more treatments.  Look up TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) in the Norman phone book.   This really works!

As a home remedy for when my allergies act up in the springtime there is only one way for me to get relief and that is with a Neti Pot.  This is a technique that has been used for thousands of years in India and other places.  Put a little warm salt water in and let it clean out your sinuses and nasal passages.  This really does wonders for me!

Quercetin

Quercetin is a natural substance derived from plants. It is a bioflavonoid which helps mast cells to stabilize so they do not unnecessarily release histamines. It is also a powerful and natural antioxidant that aids in cleaning up molecules known as free radicals which cause damage to cells and encourage the growth of cancers. Some foods that are high in quercetin are lettuce, tomatoes, parsley, broccoli, tea, onions, apples and citrus fruits. However, those who suffer from allergies may do best to take a quercetin supplement. The dosage recommended is about 1000 mg daily taken on an empty stomach. Start taking this about six weeks before allergy season. If you have any liver disease don't use quercetin.

Omega 3 Fatty Acids

The medical journal Allergy published a German study which showed that persons who consumed a lot of Omega-3 fatty acids were less prone to experience allergy symptoms than persons who were deficient in this substance. The best source for this is from flax seed oil.

Hot Stuff Decongestant

When pollen counts are high you can keep the breathing clear by adding hot mustard, hot peppers and horseradish to your diet. These are natural decongestants.

Stinging Nettle

if you think you would like to take an anti-histamine but want to stay natural, you can take stinging nettle herb. It works as well as many of the drugs that are given for allergies but without all the unwanted side effects - no drowsiness or dry mouth. Nettle actually works to impede the production of histamine in the body. Research studies have shown that about 300 mg taken each day will give most people relief. You may have to take this every couple of hours.

Butterbur

Butterbur plant is common in Europe but can be hard to find in the United States. It is an alternative to taking anti-histamine drugs. The British Journal of Medicine published a Swiss study showing that butterbur did just as well as the drug cetirizine which is the active ingredient in Zyrtec. The persons in the study took 8 mg four times a day. It should be noted that butterbur, is from the same family as ragweed so in some cases it might exacerbate symptoms.

Honey as Alergy Home Remedy

I had read that you can cure your allergies by eating locally produced honey.  I am here to positively say this really worked great for me.  It really did the trick!  I had suffered from really bad allergies my whole life.  There was no way I could lay down on grass or have the windows rolled down in the car in the spring.  I really did not look forward to springtime.  So I began eating honey when I was 34.  This was part of a weight lifting training program and not for allergies.  After a couple of years of doing this, my allergies completely disappeared.  Spring is no problem now and after four years my allergies have not come back.  You can bet I am still taking the honey every day.
