Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is an excellent natural home cure  and home remedy for sinus infections.  Simply mix sixteen ounces of water with an eighth of a cup of apple cider vinegar.  Drink this mixture for about five days, and it should be ingested several times throughout the day.  Not only will you find that the mucous build up will thin, but the sinus infection will quickly subside as well.

Solanpus for Sinus Headache

For sinus headache use Solanpas. Cut a small strip, about 1/2 inch wide and put it across the bridge of the nose. Leave over night. It was the only thing that worked for me.

Steam as Home Remedy Cure for Sinus Infection

My grandmother had a wonderful home remedy for treating sinus infections.  She would always tell us to steam our face using boiling water.  Simply put a clean hand towel over your face and lean over some boiling water for ten minute increments.  This should be repeated about five times daily and until symptoms are gone.  I love this home cure for sinus infections.

Steam Baths

Steam baths are also wonderfully effective for treating a sinus infection naturally.  To do this, simply turn on your shower and run it at its highest possible temperature.  Once the water begins to steam, sit as close as possible to the tub and relax.  Stay in your homemade steam room for as long as you can tolerate the humidity and you'll quickly find that your sinus infection will subside.

Apple Cider Vinegar Home Remedy

Apple cider vinegar is an excellent home and natural remedy.  This is especially a wonderful remedy for sinus infections.  Once you begin a sinus infection starting, mix a glass (eight ounces) of water with two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar.  This should be drunk quickly.  You'll almost immediately feel the mucous thinning in your head, and your symptoms will be noticeably better.

Steam Vapors

Steam vapors are another wonderful home remedy for sinus infections.  This helps to ease the nasal passages and helps to loosen accumulated mucous.  The easiest way to accomplish this is to place your face over a bowl that is filled with hot water.  Then, just inhale the steam that is rising from the bowl.  You can also try to put a hand towel or wash cloth over your face and sit in the bathroom with the shower running with some hot water.

Saline Irrigation

Nasal passages can be irrigated to clear out any mucous that has gathered in the sinuses. Saline solution should be used on a regular basis to clean out the sinuses, and this should be done on a frequency that is contingent upon how severe your symptoms are.  This should be done until your symptoms are gone.

Grapefruit Seed Extract

You can try using grapefruit seed extract as an additive to your regular nasal solution.  Simply add a few drops, and you'll be amazed by how well it will clear out your sinuses and help with a sinus infection.  This is a very potent anti-bacterial agent that is completely natural.  It should only be used in small quantities.  Not only does it help to speed the healing process, but it also helps to assuage your symptoms.  This is a wonderful natural cure for sinus infections.

Shower Mucous Treatment

One of the best ways to get rid of a sinus infection is to expel all of the mucous that has accumulated in the sinus cavities.  My favorite home remedy for this is to take a very hot shower and allow the hot water to spray on your face.  Concentrate the water spray on your nose and forehead.  While doing this in the shower, try to blow as much mucous out of your nose as you possibly can.  This will really help to clean out your sinus cavity.  This is a great home remedy for sinus infection.

Oil Pulling

Oil pulling is a wonderful natural remedy from India.  This has been shown to be very effective when used to treat sinus congestion.  You can expect to see results in about fifteen minutes. What you do is swish a tablespoon of oil around in your mouth for about fifteen minutes with an empty stomach.  Then you spit it out.  The oil becomes totally mixed with saliva causing the oil to become thinner and with a white milky appearance.  With chin tilted upward, you slowly suck, swish and chomp the oil through your teeth.  This will clear impurities from the mouth and nasal cavities.

Vitamin C

My father suffered from a chronic sinus infection that went on for nearly ten years.  He was able to end his decade of suffering by simply incorporating lots of vitamin C into his diet.  He took vitamin C supplements for about three months.  I prefer to take anywhere from one thousand to three thousand milligrams of vitamin C daily.  This should be done for about one month.  This will really help to clear up the mucous.  Another important vitamin that should be taken daily to help with a sinus infection is vitamin A (taken once weekly) and vitamin E (take this one twice a week).  You'll find that one of these will control the mucous, and vitamin E raises the body's antioxidant level, and this protects against a weakened immune system and further infections.  Another good tip for fighting sinus infections is to stay away from carpet.  Carpeted floors tend to harbor fungus, which can make these infections much worse.  If you have carpet and suffer from chronic sinus infections, try to spray with borax and hydrogen peroxide.

Neti Pot Natural Remedy

If you currently use a neti pot to treat your sinus infection, a wonderful natural remedy and cure for sinus infection is the addition of grapefruit seed extract.  Simply add the grapefruit seed extract to warm water in your neti pot and you'll see a vast improvement in your symptoms and your sinus infection will be cured soon.

Garlic

Garlic is an excellent natural home remedy and cure for sinus infections.  You can either drink garlic juice or try the garlic capsules.  Garlic has both antifungal and anti-bacterial properties, which is extremely beneficial when suffering from a sinus infection, as they can be caused by either fungus or bacteria.  The properties of garlic are a wonderful natural cure for sinus infection.

Garlic Steam

Another great home remedy for sinus infection is to add some freshly chopped garlic to a bowl of hot water.  Mix the garlic in the water thoroughly and then inhale the steam about two to three times daily.  This is a wonderful natural remedy for sinus infection.

Apple Cider Vinegar with Potassium

One of my family's favorite home remedies for recurring sinus infection is to use apple cider vinegar that has potassium added to it.  Not only does this inhibit the production of mucous, but it is also helps to treat the common cold, a runny nose and a sinus infection.  To use apple cider vinegar, simply mix two tablespoons in a glass of warm water and then drink the entire glass.  Drink this three times daily.  You'll notice an improvement in your symptoms and you'll love this home remedy for a sinus infection.

Food Allergies

Food allergies are a common cause of sinus infection.  Lots of people have found that they are able to naturally cure their recurring sinus infections by avoiding certain food groups.  If you have chronic sinus infections, you should avoid, corn, bananas, peanuts, chocolate, duck, chicken, eggs, wheat and dairy products.  If you want to be one hundred percent sure what food and food groups you are allergic to and which ones specifically cause your sinus infections, you'll need to have a diagnostic test performed by a medical professional.  Avoiding certain foods and food groups is an easy and wonderful natural cure for sinus infections.

Hot Tea

Hot liquids are extremely beneficial when used to clear up sinuses.  They help to moisturize the mucous membranes, which actually washes the mucous out of the sinuses more quickly.  Drink enough hot tea (it can be decaf, herbal, green or any type of hot clear liquid).  Unfortunately for coffee drinkers, hot coffee isn't as effective at clearing the sinuses.

Hot Compress

Hot compresses are a great natural cure for sinus infections.  These should be applied to the face three times daily for about five minutes at a time.  Simply soak a hand towel in hot water, then place it on your face both above and below the eyes.  This will help the movement of your cilia, which remove the mucous from the sinus cavaties.

Slow-To-Rise

Breakfast in bed isn't just for mother's or father's day anymore.  Try having breakfast in bed.  This is important for curing a sinus infection naturally at home.  During the night, your cilia movement slows, and your body temperature also drops.  When you have breakfast in bed, you are slowly allowing your body to wake up and warm up.  This gives the cilia an opportunity to warm up as well.  By eating your first meal in bed, you are not jump-starting your body, but you are actually allowing it to slowly wake up.  This also helps your body to expel all of the mucus accumulated throughout the night before your respiratory system has to do anything demanding. This is one natural home remedy for a sinus infection worth considering.
